Freereina! is an upcoming Singapore-based band with a punchy, loud, shoegaze-inspired sound.

I created a custom animation for their live performance at Phil’s Studio, Singapore. The visuals were used as an overlay for their set projection, which incorporated layers of found footage.

Inspired by the band’s raw and messy sonic texture, I took a sketchy, rough approach—working with loose pencil drawings, incorporating drafts and written notes into the animation itself. I played with repetition and layering to create something fast-paced, frantic, and full of movement. The result was intentionally unfinished and bare, echoing the energy and noise of their live sound.
